Sash windows and traditional doors are the main features of many traditional houses. It is such a shame that so many people have their windows replaced by cheaper modern white plastic frames when they can restore the original design to its original glory.
A significant advantage of sash windows is that they provide efficient cooling of interiors during warm weather. Opening the top and bottom of a sash window by equal amounts allows warm air at the top of the room to escape.

Traditional Wooden Windows and Doors
Our hand-manufactured Traditional Wooden Windows and doors are constructed from Hardwood or BC Pine (high-grade softwood). We can also manufacture your Windows and Doors in a range of Hardwoods and softwoods to your specifications. Construction is usually of softwood, and units are generally single-glazed. However, double-glazed sashes are available it is more common for single-glazed sash windows to be replaced with top-hung casements when double-glazing is retro-fitted.
Normally, the time taken for sash window renovation or major repair is 2 to 4 windows per day, but then the time may vary depending on the extent of the repairs with full restoration taking considerably longer.
